I have the honour to invite Your

Lordship's attention to the fact that the schedule to

Ordinance No. 1 of 1869 is out of date and to suggest that

to Part I be added the following Officers:-

Director of Public Works,

Principal Civil Medical Officer,

Director of Education,

Head of the Sanitary Department,

Crown Solicitor,

Local Auditor,

Land Officer, and

Superintendent of the Botanical and

Forestry Department.

The provision under Part II that

the oath must be tendered to Justices of the Peace in the

presence of the Governor is inconvenient owing to the

large number of Justices of the Peace sworn annually to

fill vacancies caused by the fluctuations in the member-

-ship,
